Qigong and Taiji Ball

Overview

Learn about Qi and the practice of increasing and controlling the Qi flow in your body through Qigong. Qigong is well-known for its benefits in increasing your health, strength, and mind. It helps practitioners calm and relax their minds and release tensions in their bodies. Qigong involves gentle stretching, breathing techniques, and very calm and controlled movements with your shoulders, chest, spine, arms, hips, and legs.

Developing a strong inner energy body is the first step to maintaining a good immune system, stronger joints and muscles, and a better sense of equilibrium and stability. Getting your body's energy to flow will ensure that your internal organs are replenished when they are deficient.

In this course, some basic Taiji Ball exercises will also be introduced. Taiji Ball is the practice of Qigong while holding a ball. The movements further enhance and strengthen your entire torso.

Qigong is also used in the practice of Taijiquan and Gongfu, to enhance and increase martial power. Learning how to properly manipulate your internal Qi is important in utilizing your body's full potential.

Topics include:

  • Tai Chi Ball: Stationary and Moving Patterns
  • Qigong Theory
  • Breathing Strategies/Techniques
  • Standing Meditation Exercises
  • Qigong Basic Warm-up Exercises
