Xingyiquan
Xingyiquan
Overview
Xingyiquan (Hsing Yi Chuan) is a popular Chinese internal martial art. Literally translated, it means "Shape Mind Fist." Xingyi is based on the theory of the Five Elements — Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, and Wood — and also incorporates the movements and inner characteristics of 12 animals. Unlike most internal martial arts, Xingyiquan was created to be more aggressive and offensive, and to be learned quickly.
Xingyiquan is an internal art and, much like its sisters Taijiquan and Baguazhang, it improves Qi circulation in the body, builds strength, and maintains health.
