Heidi Butler
- Tumbling
Looking for a challenging workout after having been a competitive gymnast, Heidi Butler began training at YMAA in 1998. She periodically offers tumbling classes to YMAA members and the local community.
Heidi competed in high school varsity gymnastics and was fortunate enough to receive an athletic scholarship to Northeastern University, where she competed for 4 years. Upon graduating with an undergraduate degree in Recreation Management, she began running a gymnastics program for the City of Boston in 1984. After 24 years at the Ohrenberger Community Center, the gymnastics program is still going strong! In 1991, Heidi earned a master's degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology and became a certified Health/Fitness Instructor through the American College of Sports Medicine.
Heidi enjoys Kung-Fu, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, rock climbing, dancing and any creative movement. When the perpetual motion stops, she loves reading and taking naps with her 5 cats.
