Alec Chan and Alex Nesbitt Advance to 3rd Shaolin Rank

Congratulations to Alec Chan and Alex Nesbitt for achieving their 3rd rank qualification in YMAA Shaolin Kung Fu. Alec and Alex have put in many years of hard, diligent work into their training. They are both exemplary of extremely humble, dedicated, and disciplined YMAA students, and we are proud of their advancement throughout the past few years. Pictures from the test are posted here.

Alec Chan, now 12, began his YMAA training in the children's class when he was only 6 years old. After developing a solid foundation in his training, he has since began to assist teaching in children's classes and private lessons for kids. Alex Nesbitt achieved his first Shaolin rank in 2006. In the following years, he also helped to teach in several adult Shaolin classes.

We had a good turnout for this quarter's testing, with about a dozen students for Shaolin and six students for Taijiquan. The examiners for Taijiquan were: Jeff Pratt, Mark Klein, and Brian Muccio. The examiners for Shaolin were: Nicholas C. Yang, James Yang, and Ben Warner.

The students at YMAA Boston have made great progress over the past few months, and it is evident in the results of this test.
