Push Hands

Two person Taijiquan or Pushing Hands is the path to deeper knowledge of the art. Individual practice will only take a person so far, reaching a deep understanding requires work with another person. Pushing Hands (Tui Shou ) is fun, develops whole body motion, strength and coordination. Pushing Hands can be done slowly in a meditative way or as a fast competitive drill. This seminar will cover the foundations of Pushing Hands and focus on four key elements.
Learn:
● Sensitivity to the opponent’s intentions. (Listening Jing)
● Reacting to the opponent’s actions. (Following Jing)
● Connecting to the opponent. (Sticking Jing)
● Disrupting the opponent’s balance. (Adhering Jing)
Leading the seminar is Jeffrey Pratt, a recognized instructor by YMAA International. Mr. Pratt has been practicing Taijiquan since 1987. He has taught and competed in Taijiquan nationally and internationally. A national champion and grand champion in Pushing Hands. He shares his love of the art and experience with everyone in the seminar.
