Soft Weapons

Age 9+
This five morning program introduces students to the Rope Dart and the Double Sticks. This program is for serious students who are able and ready to work with a partner.
We will be keeping things safe by using foam weapons and keeping a strict eye on proper training practice. The traditional Rope Dart is made of metal but we will be using soft bean bags. Double sticks are traditionally made of wood, we will be using foam sticks.
This program is all about skill-building, teamwork and fun. Students will learn
We’ll train indoors, but if the weather's on our side, we may take practice outside for an extra dose of summer fun.
Students of all skill levels are welcome to join. This summer program is a great way to build confidence, learn cool skills, and make new friends.
This program is for rising 5th graders and older

- Weaving and spinning techniques
- Throwing and retrieving the dart from our elbows, knees and shoulders.
- Spinning and turning footwork that will evolve into spinning jumps later in the week
- Combining all of these movements into repeatable forms
- Solo drills & combinations
- Partner drills & combinations
- Basic high to low blocking patterns
- Combining blocks with strikes
- Footwork and stepping patterns

Join us for five mornings of rigorous martial arts training, mindfulness practice and super fun games. Gameify your Kung Fu skills and practice while learning to focus your mind and body. Spend some time this summer growing your strength, focus, and martial arts skills.

- Boxing padwork combos
- Footwork drills and games
- Kung Fu dodge ball
- Meditation & mindfulness practice
- Tan Tui (traditional Kung Fu forms)
