When you arrive
Please arrive 10 minutes before class. The instructor will meet you and explain the format of that day's class.
Wear comfortable workout clothes and light clean footwear or bare feet. A water bottle and towel are recommended for Kung Fu and kettlebell classes.
A signed liability waiver is required for participation. Waivers can be completed by filling out the request form through the link above. Waivers are also available at the studio or you may download one here.

Class Etiquette
At YMAA Boston we enjoy a friendly, supportive environment. Out of respect for our lineage and the work of Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming we hold to some traditional forms of protocol. A Shaolin salute or Tai-Chi bow is performed before entering or exiting the training space and at the beginning and end of each class. The Shaolin salute is performed by placing the right hand fist against the left hand palm. The Tai-Chi bow is performed by placing the hands by the side and leaning forward slightly from the hips.
