Martial Morality

What does "Kung Fu' really mean.

The Chinese words "kung fu" literally translate to "energy time". In essence anything that takes a lot of time and work could be called kung fu. Playing a sport, learning an instrument and writing well are all examples of kung fu.

Within the context of our studio, kung fu refers to any style of martial art that was developed in China. Kung fu is more than just blocks, kick and punches. It is the time and energy spent learning something and the self improvement that comes of the process.

Martial Moralities

In an effort to better ourselves and our training we focus on ten ideas called Martial Moralities. The five moralities of action have to do with how we treat other people, the five moralities of mind have to do with how we treat ourselves.
