sunday, April 27, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (lunch from 12-2)
Chin na means "seize and control" and is one of the four major elements of martial arts training. Chin na are grabbing techniques that specialize in controlling or locking the opponent's joints, muscles, or tendons. Chin Na principles are the foundation of numerous martial arts styles including Aikido, Jujitsu, judo, and BJJ. These joint locking techniques can be applied to any background and style of training and are an essential addition to any martial arts style.
In this seminar Master Yang will teach chin na techniques from the YMAA International Chin Na curriculum. Fundamental techniques will be covered for beginners and counter attack principles will be covered for more advanced practitioners. Tai Chi and Shaolin Chin Na principles will also be explored.
