Silk reeling
taiji pattern
October 13, 10:00am-1:00pm
Tai Chi Pattern or “Silk Reeling” training is a great foundation for Tai Chi Chaun. All of the movements in the Tai Chi Chuan solo form can be derived from the Tai Chi Pattern. Practicing the Tai Chi pattern helps the student learn to integrate movement into the powerful “whole body” motion that is the hallmark of Tai Chi Chuan. Alone or with a partner, Tai Chi Pattern training is a great addition to anyone’s practice.
This seminar will cover the following.
● Basic concepts of Tai Chi Pattern practice.
● Yin and Yang pattern with an emphasis on the lesser known yin pattern.
● Two person drills to deepen understanding of the pattern.
● Learning to move through the pattern with confidence and power.
Leading the seminar is Jeffrey Pratt, Instructor third degree YMAA International. Mr Pratt has been practicing Tai Chi Chuan since 1987. He has taught and competed in Tai Chi Chuan nationally and internationally. A national champion and grand champion in Pushing Hands, he brings insight and fun to everyone in the seminar.
