Leopards
Age 6-9, Yellow & Purple Belts
Level Testing
What it takes: Attitude and Effort.
Each full level in our curriculum is represented with a colored belt. Each belt has three sub-levels identified by stripes on the edge of the belt. Testing week occurs three to four times per year.
Passing is not guaranteed, it is based on time and energy well spent in the classroom and at home. YMAA levels are gained through diligent practice and proper behavior. If students practice regularly with good attitude and effort they should be able to earn a stripe at testing. It is possible for students to earn more than one stripe at a test. Expectations of performance increase as students move through the levels. Students should also expect to be tested on material from previous levels.
